They put on a concert at the just-concluded North West Regional Esperanto Conference (at the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney) last Saturday evening, and they are really good; of course the fact that one of their numbers was in Esperanto ("La Nigra Ruband'" - the Black Velvet Ribbon) biases me, but I would like them even without that. Haruo PS: I won $150 (! CAD, but still!!) at the conference for my Esperanto translation of "Cool Water". |

They seemed to be local when I attended their concert in Sidney in '03 as noted above. They billed their sound as "West Coast Celtic", so I doubt they're from the Maritime Provinces. Unfortunately their AngelFire website is gone and Google doesn't suggest an alternative. Haruo |

The band is from Vancouver Island, BC Canada. They are still playing and making great music at the Buchart Gardens in the summers. During the year you can catch them at the local Irish pub called.. The Irish Times. They currently do not have a website but the email that was posted earlier is still current. Check out Melody's solo project! It's fabulous! and if you liked Kitangus then you may have caught a "Syren" moment or two at the gardens. Syren is the duo project of Melody and me.
