Subject: Cassette cover inlay. From: harpmaker Date: 30 Sep 02 - 02:27 PM Does anyone have (or know where I can get) a template so I can design my own inlay covers on the PC, and then just print them off? Any ideas appreciated. Thanks. |

Subject: RE: Help: Cassette cover inlay. From: artbrooks Date: 30 Sep 02 - 03:12 PM There are probably commercial templates out there. However, if nothing else comes up, I have a Microsoft Word template I put together for cassettes I dub from LPs or CDs. (That I own...to play in the car...no piracy here!!) It works ok. PM me an e-mail address and I'd be glad to send it to you. |

Subject: RE: Help: Cassette cover inlay. From: Clinton Hammond Date: 30 Sep 02 - 03:49 PM I had a program called The Cassette Producer or some such thing that would organise mp3's by time to be recorded onto tape.. and it also made a killer cassette liner... Ya might wanna try a google search for it... ;-) |

Subject: RE: Help: Cassette cover inlay. From: Jim Dixon Date: 30 Sep 02 - 05:45 PM I've heard them called "J-cards" because they're folded in the shape of a "J" when you look at them from one end. |

Subject: RE: Help: Cassette cover inlay. From: GUEST Date: 30 Sep 02 - 06:00 PM Sorcha, doesn't Adaptec deal with CDs rather than cassette tapes? |

Subject: RE: Help: Cassette cover inlay. From: Sorcha Date: 30 Sep 02 - 06:01 PM Oh yea, I can scan photos, save as jpg and put them in the jewel case software, or I can use their templates. Being able to scan the liner notes is VERY handy for track listings!! |

Subject: RE: Help: Cassette cover inlay. From: mack/misophist Date: 30 Sep 02 - 08:37 PM I just bought some new Avery CD labels and they cane with free cd software for all kinds of audio labels. Too many bells and Whistles, though. See if you can borrow adaptec CD Creator. |

Subject: RE: Help: Cassette cover inlay. From: Mr Red Date: 01 Oct 02 - 08:32 PM I did it in Pagemaker 4 in 1992. I also found a set of cassette labels (6 up A4 peel-off) from someplace and printed those too. Still got a few. If you use Word set-up text boxes and right click properties and you can dial-in the size and position (choose relative to page) of the box. I only takes about 3 iterations for me and I reckon I am a cut and try man. Set the colour to dim grey and cut to suit. Go for high q paper or 120 gm paper. good luck |

Subject: RE: Help: Cassette cover inlay. From: GUEST,Baillie Date: 02 Oct 02 - 12:03 PM Why not just do the blindingly obvious thing and take out a cassette inner, get a ruler, measure it and draw up one of your own? isn't that simple! but then I am a graphic designer... |

Subject: RE: Help: Cassette cover inlay. From: Mr Red Date: 02 Oct 02 - 07:24 PM GUEST,Baillie Too right mate - I assumed they would do that - but when you print a stack of them where are the cut lines? Answer use Word text boxes, they are simple and most people have Word. And it is easier than Pagemaker and Publisher and Photoshop. Corel has dimensioning but as I remember there was a huge learning curve on that. Which I quickly forgot. |
