It was Johnny Collins and Jim Mageean's version of "Poor Old Man", or "The Dead Horse" as the Mudcat prefers to call it, from their "Live at Herga" album, that a) perplexed me for years with its line of "He's as dead as a nail in a lamproom door" b)got my first thread about same started on The Mudcat c) ended up with me deciding that, occasional troll GUEST aside, you were a fine bunch of people to be e'ing with, as it were. Nice to know he's still around. One thing. He was fairly noisy when we saw them at Llantrisant, donkeys years ago, he must be bl**dy loud by now! |
