Subject: translation From: GUEST,DougC Date: 22 May 02 - 07:43 AM I posted a message on the irish gaelic list server recently asking about a translation (from english to gaelic) of some gaelic words. I had some useful translations of other words I asked for but didn't get any positive response with regard to the main words I was interested in, i.e. lonesome touch (as in the Martin Hayes / Dennis Cahill album of the same name). I've also posted on scots / irish culture newsgroups but would be grateful if anybody could help me with this request. My guess is that maybe someone with both musical and gaelic interests might know! dougC |

Subject: RE: lonesome touch - gaelic translation From: GUEST,Declan Date: 22 May 02 - 08:14 AM I can help you with one half of this Uaigneas is the word for loneliness. The adjective would be Uaigneach. I'm struggling for a word that directly translates to touch - my Gaeilge is a bit rusty. I'm sure someone else will come up with an answer very quickly. |
