Early in his career, Gene Autry sang under the name "Jimmie and the Cowboys." He was a direct imitator of Jimmie Rodgers, complete with yodel. Yesterday, I heard this great song by Gene Autry, under the name of "Jimmie and the Cowboys," from the thirties called "That's How I got my start." It's a hoot!!! I found the CD at Amazon, but I don't want to buy the CD, if someone knows the lyrics.
