Subject: Thanks for OldTimey 78s site! From: Ebbie Date: 19 Jan 02 - 07:31 PM I think it was Stewie first and then Rick F who linked the 78s site. I'm spending a lot of time there and I just want to say again: THANKS! I have passed the word on to friends- if you put 'honking duck' into Google it takes you right there. What a treasure! Ebbie |
Subject: RE: Thanks for OldTimey 78s site! From: catspaw49 Date: 19 Jan 02 - 07:47 PM It was Stewie. I PM'ed Rick about it and he really put the word out..........But thanks for a reminder Ebbie because of someone that didn't respond to an e-mail and I'm beginning to wonder a bit.......THink I'll try another to him now! Thanks... Spaw |
Subject: RE: Thanks for OldTimey 78s site! From: Ebbie Date: 19 Jan 02 - 07:52 PM Reminds me: Last night at music I talked about the site. When leaving, one musician said, Let's see- you said, put in 'roaring duck'? |

Subject: RE: Thanks for OldTimey 78s site! From: Ebbie Date: 20 Jan 02 - 02:16 PM Question: Are musicians different? Last night (Saturday night)at music, a musician told me, aggrievedly, 'Rubber Ducky' didn't work. |
Subject: RE: Thanks for OldTimey 78s site! From: Geoff the Duck Date: 10 Apr 02 - 08:21 AM I can never recall the name of the original thread when I try to do a Forum Search, so it takes me ages to finally hit a key word which gets me there. This is the original thread's title and a clicky to it Hundreds of old-time records on line . |
Subject: RE: Thanks for OldTimey 78s site! From: GUEST,Al Date: 10 Apr 02 - 11:38 PM Looks like the copyright police have found this site. This must be the day the music died. Al |
Subject: RE: Thanks for OldTimey 78s site! From: wysiwyg Date: 11 Apr 02 - 01:21 AM If someone knew the filenaming code that had been used, could the RA files be accessed directly? If so PM me..... ~Susan |
Subject: RE: Thanks for OldTimey 78s site! From: Geoff the Duck Date: 11 Apr 02 - 11:52 AM I am sure that more than one of us has already downloaded the complete archive - I think that I managed it, but had gone back to check song details when I discovered this problem. That said, I am currently not in a position to do a lot with them other than get them burned onto a CD so I don't accidentally lose the files. GtD! |
Subject: RE: Thanks for OldTimey 78s site! From: wysiwyg Date: 11 Apr 02 - 01:38 PM Geoff, that's great-- I only have a few by filename and would have had to reconstruct it all. Can you take a filename and try accessing it from the site directly by incoporating it in the URL.... post what you tried here and let's see if it is possible to refine it and get in. There was an Annexe thread about doing things like that not long ago, and it was a big help. ~S~ |
Subject: RE: Thanks for OldTimey 78s site! From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 11 Apr 02 - 04:36 PM That's good Geoff. Now if there's someone with enough web space to put that up there, preferably in some part of the world where the copyright Gestapo don't operate... |
