Subject: Irish Tinflute 'Greatest Hits' From: GUEST,Honky Date: 08 Jan 02 - 04:25 PM Oy! I know this must sound very strange: what would be the 10 best songs/jigs/reels to learn if you want ti sit in a irish jam session? I just started playing the flute and I don't really know what songs to look for. I've got a couple of books but the don't have any real irish stuff. Please advice. Cheers!/Honky |
Subject: RE: Tune Req: Irish Tinflute 'Greatest Hits' From: Tattie Bogle Date: 08 Jan 02 - 07:44 PM I've got a book called "110 Ireland's best Session Tunes" published by Waltons - cost me £7.99. It's got the melody line and guitar chords, and they also do one specifically for Tin whistle (also 110 tunes). You can also get accompanying CDs if you're feeling rich or need to learn by ear. and there are other books (5 more) for other instruments/styles. Tattie B |
