Subject: Happy Birthday, Allan C's Mom! From: SINSULL Date: 28 Dec 01 - 10:46 AM For those who have not met her, Thelma Clark is a great lady with a wonderful sense of humor (she knows how to giggle when life requires it). Just look at the young man she raised and you can get an idea of what a special woman she is. Happy Birthday, Thelma! Take a break from the garden and the birds for a minute, step inside, and celebrate! Mary |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday, Allan C's Mom! From: catspaw49 Date: 28 Dec 01 - 01:42 PM Happy Birthday To YOU!!! You must be a great mom to have raised a son like Allan. I wish you the best and all that you could want in the coming year. .......and if you're out with the garden and the birds in weather like we have on this side of mountain (Ohio), then you're either tougher than nails, have a screw loose, or both! Having a screw loose is no big deal though...I have several loose ones myself. Spaw |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday, Allan C's Mom! From: katlaughing Date: 28 Dec 01 - 01:45 PM Happy Birthday, Mrs. Clark. You sure do have a fine son and I can just imagine how beautiful your smile must be, judging from the kind and gentle smiles he shares with so many of us. You have a wonderful day and may the following year bring you much joy. kat

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday, Allan C's Mom! From: Allan C. Date: 28 Dec 01 - 03:23 PM For those who may be wondering what might have prompted this lovely outburst, take a look here. Mom and I just read through these posts together. She is quite nearly as amazed to see all of this on the computer as she was to receive Christmas and/or birthday cards from so many caring strangers. She has met SINSULL (who for those of you who have not yet had the pleasure is not really ALL CAPS in person as you might think). Contrary to what SINSULL might have led you to believe, Mom was not outside in the garden today. She watched her birds from the warmth of her place on the sofa. (We have feeding stations, birdhouses and squirrel feeders scattered all over the place. Mom supplements these with a steady supply of breadcrumbs.) At the moment she is seeing a rather intense bunch of snow flurries. The clouds have a pinkish tinge and I am starting to believe the forecast for some more white stuff. Mom has heard many of your voices by way of the Mudcat radio, recordings I have made at some of the gatherings, recordings I made during the Adventure, Ron Olesko's Christmas show, and a few recordings some of you have given to me or posted to me. Mom doesn't know your faces or personalities the way that I do; but she most certainly recognizes the wonderful caring of which she has been a recipient. For all of this, she has asked me to convey her thanks to you. Bless you, everyone. I will have to admit to being a bit embarrassed to have so many complimentary things written about me among the comments here. I am grateful that you carefully avoided mentioning to Mom the many other less than wonderful things you probably know about me. |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday, Allan C's Mom! From: MMario Date: 28 Dec 01 - 03:33 PM well Allan - why depress her on her birthday? Besides - we figger she already KNOWS about them! *grin* (you should now better then to leave a line like that dangling out in this forum) |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday, Allan C's Mom! From: Noreen Date: 28 Dec 01 - 03:41 PM Happy Birthday Thelma, from the West Pennine moors in England. It started snowing here on Christmas Eve but gave up. Rained all day today. I did see a lovely kestrel swoop low over the fields as I came home this afternoon though- do you have kestrels? And did Allan cook you a birthday cake? *smile* Love, Noreen |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday, Allan C's Mom! From: catspaw49 Date: 28 Dec 01 - 03:45 PM Naw Noreen, it's West Virginia.....they got buzzards though!
(and if this wasn't a thread for Thelma, I'd add that in West Virginia, the state bird is a fly)Spaw |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday, Allan C's Mom! From: Tinker Date: 28 Dec 01 - 03:57 PM Happy Birthday!!! It's nice to know my daughter shares a birthday with a wonderful woman. I assume you've trained Allan up to know that birthday gifts never arrive in Christmas paper. And on this special day you are the only (well I tuck my girl in there too) blessing we give thanks for.... Take care of each other..Love Ya Tinker |
