Subject: Sonora's Death Row From: Arkie Date: 13 Jan 00 - 12:19 AM Don't much about this song except that it has been recorded by Robert Earl Keen and Tom Russell, and I have heard it a couple of Cowboy Gatherings. Sonora's Death Row (Kevin Blackie Farrell) Mescal is free in Amanda's saloon For the boys from the old Broken Hole Saturday nights in the town of Sonora Are the best in all Mexico They've got guitars and trumpets and sweet senoritas Who won't want to let you go You'd never believe such a happy town Had a street called Sonora's death row
Inside Amanda's we were all dancing

Subject: RE: Lyr Add: Sonora's Death Row From: Arkie Date: 13 Jan 00 - 02:14 PM Kevin Farrell is listed as the writer everywhere I have seen the lyrics and on the Robert Earl Keen recording. Wish I was capable of putting the tune here. It is a fine one, will stick with you, and fits the words quite well. |
