Subject: RE: Help: does anyone have any infomation ? From: katlaughing Date: 07 Oct 99 - 04:39 PM Hi, Kevin, welcome to the Mudcat! If you will go up to the search box in the righthand corner of this page and click on the "J" in the alphabetical listings, you can follow that to two versions of the song you are looking for. For future reference, it is a good idea to search through the DigiTrad database before posting a thread. Also, if you do not find the song you are looking for and decide to start a thread, it will get a faster response if you put the name of the song or what words you may know from the song in the title of your thread. Hope this helps, katlaughing (info also emailed to him)

Subject: RE: Help: does anyone have any infomation ? From: MMario Date: 07 Oct 99 - 04:52 PM If you were looking for more then just the lyrics and tune, perchance some history, all I could find was that it was evidenlty quite well known mid 19th century. It is listed on many American Civil War sites, and is listed on reanectment sights for British of the same time period. Most sites other then US Civil War sites list it as Irish Traditional. |
