Subject: Fare You Well From: folk1234 Date: 30 Aug 99 - 10:44 PM I know that "Fare You/Thee Well" appears in perhaps 500 of DT's songs, but I'm looking for the Fare You Well written by Billy Ed Wheeler and recorded so well by Joan Sprung in her Folk Legacy Album entitled "Ballads and Butterflies". I think I know the words, but I'm looking for background and chords. It goes something like this: "So fare you well, my good people, Wherever you are, wherever you go, Wherever you come from, wherever you're travelling, I know your name." Thanks! |

The words to the last verse, I'm told, appear on the cornerstone at Berea College in KY: "God hath made of one blood all the nations of mankind to live as brothers on this earth." The Folk-Legacy recording was made a loooong time ago, but I still occasionally use that song to close a concert. E-mail me, mopsing@aol.com if you'd like more particulars. Joan |

Fare You Well is truly a fine song - a great concert closer. I have another question, which I'll email to you. |
