Subject: Old Knot hole. From: Cliffsair@aol.com Date: 26 Aug 99 - 09:24 PM I'm looking to find the lyrics and chords for a song I partialy learned 35 years ago. I'm not sure the title is the old knot hole but the chorus went something like "you can have your television and your picture show, it'll never take the place of the old knot hole." Any assistance would be very much appreciated. Cliff Lee Cliffsair@aol.com |

Subject: Lyr Add: KNOT HOLE (Bill Carlisle)` From: Neil Stoneman Date: 26 Aug 99 - 10:01 PM Bill Carlisle sang that song. I think he wrote it as well. I heard it a few months ago on the radio and refreshed my memory. These words are pretty close. I chord it a couple of different ways because I can't remember the exact tune.
(THE OLD) KNOT HOLE
1. I remember back when my sister and her boyfriend
CHORUS: Knot hole (knot hole), knot hole (knot hole),
2. I heard they're gonna start making dresses out o'' wood.
3. I saw my granddad just the other night.
4. I saw the bright lights of old Broadway, |

Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Old Knot hole. From: Cliffsair@aol.com Date: 28 Aug 99 - 12:45 AM Thanks Neil! I have been looking high and low for the lyrics to that song. I'm sure it will be a big hit at a camp I go to with my family in Northern CA. All the showers are outside and have a lot of knot holes open. Thanks again for your effort. Cliff Lee. |

Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Old Knot hole. From: Banjer Date: 28 Aug 99 - 08:20 AM Brings to mind the old story about the prudish old biddy that went to the city council meeting and complained about the fence around the nudist camp having open knot holes in it. Hizzoner the mayor allowed that he was not aware of the situation but promised to 'look into it'! |

Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Knot Hole (Bill Carlisle) From: GUEST,Dottie Date: 15 Apr 17 - 09:53 PM Thanks for giving us the words to The Old Knot Hole. I don't know why but I started singing it today, out of a clear blue sky, but could only remember one verse. It's so refreshing to remember a song that will make me smile, instead of all the ugly stuff we hear today. I'm going to make a copy and give it to my sons to sing and play on their guitars. I think I remember the music. Sad that we on the East Coast don't get the old Grand Ole Opree shows any more. They would be called "corny" now, but they were great fun and lifted the spirit, which is just what we need. |
