What a treat to have North Carolinan Chuck Brodsky and Arkansas Old Tyme band "Still On The Hill" on "Acoustic Workshop tonight. Sorry their stupid internet connection is still down, but the good news is..we'll still be able to hear these fine artists. Max and Dick have kindly asked me to send copies of the radio show for the Mudcat to archive, and tonight's show goes in the mail tomorrow. I'll continue to send one show a week, and we'll see what happens.

Again, thanks my new mudcat friends with your patience regarding CIUT's on again off again internet connection. I really love you folks!

Chuck is a long way from an average songwriter. He writes about people and situations with great humour and a real spark, and Still On The Hill play great old (and new) time music. Get This, Their bass player used to jam with the Beatles! Hopefully, you'll get a kick out of them too.

Rick

Rick, Just caught both of these great acts at the Summerfolks Festival in Owen Sound this past weekend. Though, I've seen Chuck Brodsky 4-5 times before, he continues to get better and his song writing even more biting. Still on the Hill, though it seems like a bluegrass band is really far from it. They have a very broad eclectic feel in their playing styles and the variety of songs they perform. Both were hits this past week end and it's great to hear they'll be on the SHOW !! Mike Strobel

Well, I look forward to hearing the programs on the Mudcat, barring the return of Monday nights on the 'Net.

Got a chance to hang out with the "Still on the Hill" folks after the show for a while. What a hell of a nice gang of folks. They're from Fayetville Ark. and all have been playing in different bands for years. They are NO spring chickens, that's for sure. I was impressed with them technically and especially with their guitar player (names escape me at the moment) He plays bare fingered, in a most unique way. Tremendous chord sense and lightning fast, but TOTALLY shows his respect for the music in every way possible. They're off to the Philly Folk Festival this week. They've also played Kerrville, Merlefest, and Owen Sound, and those are HARD festivals to get. I'll be seeing Chuck Brodsky at the Ottawa Folk Festival where we'll be both playing this week-end.

Rick
