I once heard the great Kate Rusby describe a lot of her music as "Castle Knocking-Down Songs." So, I thought it would be interesting to learn what songs make you want to knock a castle down? "Scots Wha Hae" is the one I would personally pick.

In Child #93 Bo Lamkin, the unpaid carpenter or mason who worked on the castle takes revenge for his lack of wages by killing the lord's baby and wife. Not my favorite ballad.

I can't think of any castles I want to knock down at the moment, but if I could, I'd get in the mood by listening to "Donald McGillavry" and "Haughs of Cromdale".

There's a medieval German song which sings of 'setting the red hen to the cloister roof': a reference to burning the churches and religious institutions.

Wonder if it'll catch on as a pastime?
