Subject: Cookie fix From: Max Date: 05 Aug 99 - 04:25 PM OK, for those that have been having problems initiating your membership with the new Mudcat, or your share your computer with another member, I have some new things to try. We added a Log Out page that you can find from the Member link on the banner or in the QuickLinks dropdown. This will delete your cookie and allow you to initiate a new one. You should only need to use this once (per account). The New Mudcat uses a different type of cookie, and the old one do not work with the new site. So each account must be initialized once with the new site. After that, you should be able to easily switch between accounts by going to Reset Your Cookie and entering your CodeName and password. Simple as that. This should resolve most of your problems out there. |

Subject: RE: Membership and Cookie Fix From: DougR Date: 09 Aug 99 - 12:29 AM Max: Would the fact that I now have trouble entering the chat room have anything to do with the cookie? I had no difficulty before and I have no problem entering the main room. DougR P. S. Does Mudcat have its non-profit status yet so that donations are deductible on federal and state income taxes? |

Subject: RE: Membership and Cookie Fix From: Max Date: 09 Aug 99 - 01:34 PM Actually we are replacing the old with a new that integrates better into the forum creating a more seemless interaction. I never liked not knowing what is going on in there before I visit. Not sure exactly what it's going to be like yet, but be sure it will be neat. CarlZen: On the login page there is an option to allow us to email your password to you should you forget it. DougR: We may not get to the tax exemtion till next year. It is a lengthy and expensive process that will really not benefit us that much till we grow a bit. I prefer sales to contributions anyhow. |
