Has anyone seen in the Web a source for Midis, or full score for the songs of that marvelous group called LADYSMITH BLACK MAMBAZO ? They are the most famous representatives of South African a capella songs called ISICATHAMIYA. They made a long U.S. tour in 1998.

I'm part of a large vocal group in Argentina, some of us interested in giving a try to those astonishing harmonies. Dozens of sites can be found in the Web, but only discography, history, fans, etc. I could not find a single sheet or Midi file. I recall all of you that I am very close to the sources of argentine folk and tango music, and would be glad to be of any help to those interested. Best regards - escamillo@ciudad.com.ar

Just came back from a Village Harmony camp where we did a few South African songs, and one amazing one from Mozambique. I'd be glad to send you what I have, and will also check with Kate Howard who lead most of the South African music. Just pop your snail mail address on my personal page and I'll send what I have

Titles I have in my posesion with sheet music, in parts are:

Sifoni Mungu
Anilalanga
A Gi Ya Mozambique
uMandela Usi Lethela uxolo
Maligbongwe
Bayeza
Rain

Let me know what works best for you.

Susan

Will try to get this out to you early next week. I'm assuming that the name is Andres Magre and that the address breaks out as Nogoya 5082 D1 line space (1417) Buenos Aires Line Space Argentina. If I am doing anything dire, let me know by Mon or Tues. (I did get the accents, but can't figure them out on computer.

Susan

Yes, the address is correct. I didn't hear of any of those songs, so any couple of them, those you like, will be very appreciated. Thank you sincerely. You can put an accent on a vowel by typing first the accent (same as single quote) and then the vowel. This works ok for Win98 configured for a US International Keyboard. Best regards - Andrés

Thank you so much, Ted. I've found Azekatarle which looks interesting, but (sigh) no sheet music or midi available. I'm sure those songs that Susan will send me will be lots of fun. Best Regards - escamillo@ciudad.com.ar
