Does anyone knows if ballads about Johnatan Swift exists in the irish folk tradition? If so, can you give informations about their texts, and about recordings where I could find them?

Interesting one. I can't think of any offhand - but have a vague recollection of the Deam being mentioned ...........aaaaaagh! Zosimus? Joyce?..It won't come! I'll try to remember.

As far as I know, Swift is somehow called 'The Dane'. About Joyce, I think you're right.

"Dane" would be the Dublin pronunciation of "Dean" - he was dean (senior cleric) of St. Patricks Cathedral in Dublin.

Looking for something else today in the Irish Traditional Music Archive, I came across the words of a song about Swift and another allegedly BY him! Both in a book called "Songs of Ireland" (M J Barry?) published about 1846. No tunes - and I've never heard either.

I recollect from my Joycean days that there was a ballad about Phoenix Park that took Swift's quatrain as its chorus, that is:
Behold this proof of Irish sense,
Here Ireland can be seen!
When nothing's left that's worth defence,
They build a magazine."
(A "magazine" is a soldier's armoury, of which one was built in Phoneix Park by the British Army of the day). But I didn't know anything about ballads in those days. It would make sense for there to be one about Wood's coinage, but I don't remember ever seeing reference to one that survived.
Yours, PeterT.
