Subject: Mick McGuire - looking for history & words From: mbilbo@nv.blm.gov Date: 12 May 99 - 09:34 PM There is an Irish folksong called "Mick McGuire." A parody using the "Mick McGuire" tune was created in 1875 called the "Regular Army 'O" which subsequently became a favorite among American soldiers. Does anyone know the original words for Mick McGuire? Was it popular with American soldiers before 1875? What is its history. |
