Subject: Songs and tunes for fiddle and guitar From: lowcountry Date: 03 May 99 - 01:52 PM My teenage daughter a good fiddler and we want to work up a few pieces with me on guitar, with or without vocal, and her on the fiddle. She prefers to start out with sheet music, although she can work out the music by ear if she has to. Please convey any suggestions for songs, tunes, and where to get music. |

Subject: RE: Songs and tunes for fiddle and guitar From: Bruce O. Date: 03 May 99 - 03:07 PM ABC2WIN can be downloaded and used for free to play and display music for tunes in ABC. For $20 you can unlock the print portion of the program and print out the tunes in standard musical notation on your printer. On the ABC homepage there's a click-on to an index of tunes in ABC at various places where you can down load files of tunes in ABC, 9622 tunes in the index I downloaded about 2 weeks ago. |

Joe sent me a really easy format to follow for links: this is what you would see when you type it in: and all anyone looking at the thread will see is the "click here". Okay, now let's see if I know what I am talking about! Katlaughing |

Subject: RE: Songs and tunes for fiddle and guitar From: Mick Lowe Date: 03 May 99 - 08:06 PM Prof's quick lesson on adding HTML to threads in order to create a link... listen very carefully I will say this only once.. First you need an angled bracket thus "<" (without the quote marks), followed by the magic formula a href= then you need some quote marks i.e. " and then type the url for the site you wish to create the link to , for example http://www.prof.co.uk/irish1.htm .. followed by another set of quotes and the opposite angled bracket > Whatever you type next will appear as the title to the link and will be underlined. To complete the spell you need another < followed by forward slash a (i.e. /a) and the closing angled bracket > Having done this you should get the following Prof's Irish Pages Now let's hope I've done that right otherwise I shall have the proverbial egg plastered sur le visage. Have fun And thanks for the mention Alison Mick |
