Subject: BIG MUDDY ALERT From: folk1234 Date: 18 Mar 99 - 04:37 PM Tis only 3 weeks until the Big Muddy Folk Festival, April 9 - 10, Boonville, MO. I've never been before, but with performers like Gordon Bok, Ann Mayo Muir, and Ed Trickett; Special Consensus; Double Decker String Band; and, of course, Cathy Barton, Dave Para & Bob Dyer, this fest is a must go & see. Are there any other 'catters going? Be sure to wear your 'cat T-shirts. Check out the Big Muddy's web page a http://shorock.com/muddy/. |

Subject: RE: BIG MUDDY ALERT From: Art Thieme Date: 18 Mar 99 - 05:00 PM Just got a note from Gordon sayin' that the trio has, after 25 years, decided to stop touring after the Spring and Fall tours of the year 2000. So it's time to appreciate this great trio by getting to their concerts during that magical year where they'll be thanking all who have supported them. Ed, Annie & Gordon will probably be doing some recordings after that, but 2000 will be our last chances to hear 'em in person. And the Big Muddy Fest in Boonville, Mo. is a great one at which to hear them---and all the rest too. I've fond memories of singin' there meself. Tell all I miss 'em. Art |

Subject: RE: BIG MUDDY ALERT From: bseed(charleskratz) Date: 19 Mar 99 - 10:53 PM I clicked on this thread because I thought "Big Muddy" was a reference to the Seeger song, and big muddy alert was a political statement about our mess in Iraq or perhaps what we might get ourselves into in Kosovo/Serbia. And we haven't had a good political thread in a long time. Imagine my disappointment! --seed |
