Subject: Good news week From: Graeme Date: 28 Oct 98 - 01:41 PM Can anyone supply the lyrics to "It's Good News Week" - a little protest song sung in 1965 by a band of RAF lads called "Hedgehoppers Anonymous." I regret to say it was written by Johnathen King. But it's quite a nice song. Anybody help? Thanks.. |

Subject: RE: Good news week From: Ritchie Date: 29 Oct 98 - 12:36 PM Well Graeme I saw your plea the first time and I started singing the damn thing....when it came back to the top I thought someone had found it thank goodness. Smart move ,I'll have to resurrect Hamish Imlach and the song about someone giving up his record collection. I'll try & dig it out tonight,if my wife will let me, and hopefully post it to-morrow.Unless of course someone beats me to it(hopefully). love and happiness Ritchie the Flash of Thunder. |

Subject: RE: Good news week From: Roger in Baltimore Date: 29 Oct 98 - 06:38 PM Joe, At 12:53 you have not enough time, then at 1:04 you post the entire lyric. Will the trainee come back tomorrow after today's experience? Or did you send the trainee to lunch so you could get some important 'Cattin' done? Actually, I'm being so snide because I am jealous, I have not had access to the 'Cat at work. However, my employer (who will remain anonymous to protect the employee) made a big mistake today. They gave me Internet capability. I did not ask for it, but I did not refuse it when it was offered. I anticipate I will need some help finding a new job in about 6 months. By the way Joe, just where did you find this lyric that was driving so many 'Catters crazy? You are usually generous in your sources. It wasn't in your program was it? Doesn't sound like Max's cup of tea. Roger in Baltimore |

Subject: RE: Good news week From: Joe Offer Date: 30 Oct 98 - 11:52 PM Hi, Roger - I did a "Power Search" at www.dejanews.com, and specified that I wanted only stuff from the alt.music.lyrics newsgroup. Apparently, there's an Australian TV program called "Good News Week" that overloads the Dejanews search and makes it impossible to find the song unless you use more sophisticated search techniques. Didn't have tome to explain my sources - you wouldn't want a new employee to catch me 'Catting on company time, would you? (believe me, they get enough out of me that I deserve a little goof-off time - and I'm the one who provides the computer to do their work) -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: Good news week From: Graeme Date: 02 Nov 98 - 05:30 PM Brilliant!!!!!!! As ever, 'catters come to the rescue!! Sorry to put you all through that, but at least it stretched the old thought processes.! I needed it for a friend who's putting together lyrics for an amateur '60s night. Why the hell he wanted that one I'll never know, 'cos I ain't going!! Thanks again, everyone. Graeme |
