From: BSEEDKRATZ-aol.com Date: 11 Oct 98 - 11:55 PM This song has been bouncing around in my head all day--all I can remember is "clickety-clack, clickety-clack, the wheels all sing to the railroad track, that if you go you can't come back, if you go you can't come back, if you go-o-o-o, you can't come back." I did a bracketed search on the digitrad with both "clickety-clack, clickety-clack" and "if you go, you can't come back" with no results. Anyone help me out on this? (I think this song came up in the threads a couple of weeks back--but it just hit me today). --seed |

Pretty soon, you'll be like Joe Offer and have women chasing you on the 'Cat The song was recorded by the Calypsonians on February 10, 1957. They eventually evolved into the Kingston Trio They learned the song from a group called the Easy Riders. It was written by Terry Gilkyson. It appeared on the Kingston Trio's first album appropriately called "The Kingston Trio on Capital T/DT 996 released on June 2, 1958. Roger in Baltimore

Nick's had some hip surgery and takes a while to get from the stage wings to the microphone. Bob Shane seems to recall some of the chords. They have a "young guy" with them to provide some real musical accompaniment. I was sorely disappointed. Their contemporaries, P, P, & M seem to be holding up better. Oh, yes, and I'm that old, too.
