Subject: Searching for a Gloucester song From: Corbett Date: 20 Aug 98 - 12:45 AM I heard some band playing live on the radio the other day, but the station didn't say who they were. They played this song that's about a particular night in the fall (the first full moon after Nov. 2?) when all of the ships that sank near Gloucester rise again. Aparently, if you see this ghostly fleet, you will not live to see land again. I didn't understand most of the words because the singer mumbled, but the song was great. Does anyone know what it is and/or how to get it or learn it? Thanks!! |

Subject: RE: Searching for a Gloucester song From: Susan A-R Date: 06 May 99 - 10:06 PM Don't know the song, but it sounds like a good one. I like those omen type songs. puts me in mind of one that I heard long ago. The only part that I remember is Wheels and wheels of fire. or some such thing. Believe it was a description of the sky. Good luck. Susan |

Subject: RE: Searching for a Gloucester song From: Sapper_RE Date: 07 May 99 - 02:33 PM It would be interesting to know when the last ocean going vessel made its way up the Severn to Gloucester. From what I can remember, the farthest upstream dock facillities surviving are at Lydney. I would be pleased to be corrected on this! Bob |
