I am looking for the words to bold docherty as sung by Norma Waterson. Also a watersons song called Swarthfell rocks. Thanks aldus

Aldus, most people here find it easier to follow the threads if the title are more informative, like e.g. "Requested: Swarthfell Rocks". And I have a personal interest that especially your request for "Bold Doherty" doesn't get lost, for I'd like to see these lyrics too. I therefore have started an own thread for "Bold Doherty" copying your request into that thread.

I have lyrics for Swarthfell Rock that are perhaps not identical to what the Watersons are singing, but at least very close. I'll post them too in an extra thread.
Wolfgang

Hi, Timb - just start a new thread from the "Forum Home" page and post the lyrics. You might want to title it "LYRICS ADD: " Eight More Miles to Louisville." The general idea is to post new songs in separate threads, and thread titles should give an idea what's inside the thread. Generic titles like the title of this thread don't help much. Now, if you want to get REALLY cool, use Alan's MIDITXT and post a MIDI of the tune for the song.

Kidson's version, with tune, was given a few days ago as 'Swarthfell Rocks' (click), and the 17th century broadside source was noted there.
