Subject: Bug in the 'Create new thread' form
From: Ezio
Date: 27 Feb 98 - 10:36 AM

I've just added three lyrics during the same session

I gave the right subject to each message, but in the list all messages show the name of the first message.

This is also strange: if you open the message, the subject showed inside is the right one. For example, open thread LYR ADD: Full circle (10:19 AM), you will see the right subject: Candlelight and wine.

I think this problem arises only when adding threads during the same session, whitout going back to DT homepage.

If this problem has already been discussed, please excuse me - Unfortunately I haven't enough time to read all message (but I would!)

Thank you

Ciao

Ezio

Hmmmm. I can't figure out what you did, Ezio. I copied your lyrics over into new threads with the proper names, and created two new threads in the process. They came out with the correct names. I tried to duplicate the error you described, but couldn't do it. Could it be that you posted all three songs in the same thread, and that you just used different subject titles???
No, I guess it couldn't be that, since you had three different threads, each with the same title. Well, Mudcat was doing strange things last night, so maybe that was the cause. I haven't quite figured out what's the value of the subject titles, since our messages are grouped by threads. I think maybe the subject title is a "Maxism," something whose purpose is known only to Max. (grin)
Could that be a "Maxim"??
Maxism-Leninism???

Hi Joe! By yesterday I have a problem with my membership (I've already sent a message to mspiegel), So, I can't post you this as personal message, as it would be probably more appropriate.

However this is the second time I have the problem I'm talking about, so it should be not related to my bad membership or a fault 'cookie' or so.

I realize that my previous message wasn't clear enough, sorry. Here's a more detaile description. You shold reproduce the problem with the following steps: 1) have a text editor running in backround with HTML-coded lyrics to be sent; copy the first lyric 2) go to the main Discussion Forum page, click on 'create a new thread' 3 ) fill the 'name of thread' field 4) press 'create thread and compose new message' button 5) fill 'subject' and 'from' &) paste into the 'enter message below' window 7) press ' submit message' button 8) now you are back in the main Discussion Forum page 9) click on 'create a new thread' 10) the small windows of 'name of the thread' appears, now containing the name of the thread you've just sent! 11) Edit the name of the thread as appropriate and go on with steps 4 to 7 12) Now you should be in the Main Discussion Forum and you should read your 2 threads having the same name!

Ciao Ezio

Ezio, I think I understood you correctly the first time, and that's exactly what I did - only it came out correct for me. Like I said, I think maybe that weird things were happening at Mudcat last night. If you have the same problem again, let's make another stab at it.
