Subject: Prose and Verse -- Help! From: Paul Stamler Date: 11 Feb 98 - 01:36 PM I tried sending a version of "St James' Hospital" to the forum, and somehow all my line breaks disappeared, turning the song into prose. Can anyone suggest how I can avoid this? (Private e-mail is fine to avoid cluttering up the group; I'm at pstamler@aol.com.) I'm using Microsoft Explorer in an AOL account. Thanks! Peace. Paul |

Subject: RE: Prose and Verse -- Help! From: Date: 11 Feb 98 - 11:58 PM even easier than reading that thread when you want to break a line, type [br] after the last word using < and > instead of [ and ] (I can't actually type it, or it wont be seen) highlight the first [br] and copy it (use ctrl c) and then paste it whenever you need it again..(all this does is avoid having to type it each time...a great help if you have a long song) |

Subject: RE: Prose and Verse -- Help! From: Joe Offer Date: 12 Feb 98 - 01:47 AM Paul, I'd highly advise typing song lyrics in a word processor. Most had a search-and-replace function, and you can use it to replace all the new line/new paragraph marks with a paragraph mark and <br> (you probably want to save the song BEFORE you add the HTML <br> break symbols. After that, you copy-and-paste they lyrics into the forum, with the HTML line end tags included. If you need private lessons, feel free to e-mail me at Joe-Offer@msn.com -Joe Offer- |
