It wasn't considered a very good guitar at the time. A few years ago Gibson reissued the L-1 and I bought one (I know, its like buying Michael Jordan sneakers.) It sounds great for the music I play even though I don't do much of his music. It has a very distintive look too, small with a round bottom. Seeing the picture of him holding it, you realize what a physically small man he was. |
