Subject: Gypsy Music and ABC Players From: John Date: 09 Jul 97 - 03:09 AM I have only just discovered a very old form of music which I believe is very popular in the US. I know that my spelling is wrong, but it's something like "klmer"? I have two broad questions please: Is anyone aware of a site which has this music in abc or midi format? I have not been successful in getting Heinrek Norbeck's abc player to work with diffrent midi voices, and I can no longer get the chord generator to work. I found his address at Tunes at Ceolas - which is an excellent site for Celtic tunes. There has been recent correspondence on other threads about getting authentic Celtic feel for accompaniment on guitar, boukouki etc. Because Heinrek's program lets you experiment with the wildness of the chords, as well as the tempo and key signature (?) it may be of help to newcomers to this idiom. I would welcome any feedback please. Regards John |
