Subject: Subtle Changes (tech notes) From: Max D. Spiegel Date: 24 Jun 97 - 10:37 AM Just a few notes on some minor changes to make us all happier. First, I got annoyed typing these messages because the text did not wrap in these windows while you type. I think I fixed that. (Did I just 'hear its about time?') Second, I got some complaints about the speed of the forum, so I defaulted the listing to 3 days. That should cut down on the load time of you initial entry. If you have the forum bookmarked, either redo it or edit your bookmark from: http://www.onstagemedia.com/mudcat/threads.cfm?Title=&Age=30 to http://www.onstagemedia.com/mudcat/threads.cfm?Title=&Age=3 We are also working on other advancements to it. We have almost a whole year of messages in the database now. It's in MS Access format, and if anyone is interested, I may offer it for download. It's about 5MB now. I also think there is some really authentic academic significance to this forum, so I'd like to have it archived forever. Someday I'll present it to the Library of Congress or the Smithsonian to keep it for us. Or maybe that's just part of my Lomax fantasy. later... |
