SONG SWAPS

Welcome to our SONG SWAPS pages, an exchange of songs, lyrics, and
memories!

Here you will find three kinds of songs:
1. Songs that you've been looking for
2. Songs someone else has been searching for — (and you know it), and

3. Songs which are remembered fragments and/or titles, but, so far, no one
knows . . .
 
The songs are arranged in alphabetical sections, (some including
alternate titles) which are each linked to a letter below:

]All songs, with their questions and answers pertaining are listed
alphabetically, (in some cases with alternate titles). If a query has come
in to which there is no answer, as yet, that songtitle will appear in
boldface
and red
.
 
]Titles are in alphabetical sections (in some cases with alternate titles
given). See above letter links for lists.
 
]If we, or other "song swappers" can't help, try these good resources:
 
  A. The Mudcat Cafe [2]   which maintains an extensive list of folksongs,
and a very helpful "Forum" wherein you can post a request. Also, there are
numerous links to many folk sites and much "folkie" information.
   B. This is a "list of lists" library page for intensive searching for
data and other possible sources. library.music.indiana.edu/music_resources

   C. For an excellent source of all kinds of folk music, begin with the
Smithsonian Library collection. Here's one "Folkways" link: [4]

How to "Find-It-Yourself-Songs" on the Internet:
Use a search engine (Google is probably the best known, but there are
others), enter the title and/or a brief line that you remember — usually
many sites come up. For specific songs (eg. songs from Broadway musicals, or
particular movies), try the title of the show, if you can't find information
about the song itself.
