Kings (aka Ring of Fire) Drinking Game
[The
Oh, Hello, so today we're going to learn how to play the drinking game
Kings also known as Ring of Fire. It's a really fun game, it's very social
and I recommend playing it with a lot of friends. A couple of things you'll
need: a deck of cards, you can use two decks if you have a lot of people,
you'll need a glass, and beer. I recommend using beer because hard liquor is
going to get you really drunk really fast in this game. You're drinking for
us to eight seconds at a time pretty much the whole game. Let's learn how to
play Ring of Fire.
To set up a game of Kings, first take your deck of cards, put them face
down, just make a circle on the table. This is the real unique, basic
set-up, and you can play just like this with just the cards, or you can play
with the King's cup. This can either be a full beer or an empty cup you put
in the middle. And, ahead of time you make up a rule like, whenever somebody
draws a King they get to pour some of whatever they're drinking into the
King's cup. And then the person that draws the last King has the chug the
King's cup. You can also play with just a bottle of beer in the center and
whenever somebody draws a card they have to stack it on top and you just
keep stacking and whoever knocks them over has to chug the beer. But, like I
said, you don't even need any of that you can just play it like this and
it's pretty fun with just the cards.
- The first rule of Kings, is a pretty simple one, it's the black
cards two through eight. If you draw a black card, two through eight,
you must pass out a drink. So, say you draw the black eight. That means
anyone of my friends that I choose has to drink for eight seconds, or if
I want I can pass out four and four or four sets of two second drinks
and that is the first rule of Kings. Now, let's go see that
demonstrated. Alright, I drew a black five, that means that I'm going to
pick Adam to drink for five seconds. "OK, I'll bluff." One, two, three,
four, five.
- The next rule of Kings involves two through eight red cards, the
diamonds and hearts. So, you draw any of the two through eight red cards
you have to drink that amount. So, say I drew the red eight, Oh crap, I
gotta drink for eight. Whew! Now, if that wasn't enough, let's see that
demonstrated again in a real game. "I drew a red six so that means I
have to drink six, you guys can count." OK, one, two, three, four, five,
six. Aah, Yuck!
- The next rule of Kings is the nine card. Whenever you draw the nine
card you have to play the rhyme game, that means, you draw the card so
you have to start off with a word and it goes around the circle and
whoever breaks the circle and can't rhyme a word has to drink. I'll say
like boat, you say coat and so on, until somebody has to drink. Now,
let's see that demonstrated shall we? I drew a nine which is rhyme nine.
My word is beer. Fear, Tear. "Crap"
- The next rule in Kings is the ten card. Whenever somebody draws a
ten card they have to play the categories game, which means if you draw
the card you have to come up with a category and then it goes around the
circle until somebody breaks the circle. So, say I drew the ten card.
Now my category is going to be types of nuts, I say peanut, and then
that guy says cashews, and so on until someone breaks the circle. Well,
it looks like I'm almost out of beer, so why don't you watch the ten
card demonstrated while I get another one. OK, categories, my category
is breakfast cereal cartoon mascots, OK Captain Crunch, Tony the Tiger,
Count Chokula, Frankenberries. "I'm gonna drink."
- The next rule of Kings is the Jack card.
- The next rule is Kings is the Queen card. Whenever somebody draws
the Queen card, you play the question game. What is the question game?,
you say to the person next to you and they have to ask the person next
to them a question and then they have to ask the person next to them a
question. And, this goes around the table until somebody messes up and
then they drink. So, you want to see the Queen card demonstrated? There
you go. I got the queen and that is the question card so I'm going to
start asking questions and then you have to keep asking questions. "How
are you doing?", "How do you think I'm doing?", "Why do you rock so
hard?", "Why do you think I rock so hard?" "Who's asking?" "I don't have
a question."
- The next rule in Kings involves the King. So, if you're playing with
a King's cup in the middle, whenever somebody draws a King they get to
pour whatever they're drinking into the King's cup. And then you get
another King, you pour something gross in there, another King and you
pour something even grosser, the last King, somebody has to drink,
whoever draws that last King, they have to drink the King's cup. Now, if
you're not playing with a King's cup you can make up a new rule and just
follow that with the King, it doesn't really matter, there's no strict
set of guidelines with this drinking game. So, Enjoy, but first, let's
see that King in action. I got the King, that means I have to drink
everything in this nasty cup.
- The next rule in Kings is the Ace, and the Ace is a waterfall, very
simple. You get the waterfall, you start chugging and you don't stop.
Everybody has to chug and whenever you stop the person next to you can
stop whenever they want. And whenever they stop the person next to them
can stop whenever they want. It goes around until everybody's done
drinking. Now, let's see that demonstrated shall we? The Ace is
waterfall, we all drink.
Now we're going to talk about some rule variations. One of the greatest
thing about Kings is that you can pretty much change any rule you want just
to make it more fun for you and your friends. So, you don't really have to
follow these guidelines, but the rules I've set out so far are the basic
rules that most everybody plays, but with all the two through eight red
cards and black cards that you usually just drink with, you can now apply
rules to all of those and make the game even more fun. The problem is if you
have too many rules somebody is going to forget eventually. So, coming up
I'm going to teach you all the rule variations you can play with the two
through eight. Also keep in mind that you can just make up your own rules
with any of these cards if you want, just have fun, drink some beer and
well, pretty much just drink some beer.
- The first rule variation are with the two cards. If you draw the two
it's called the two you rule. So you say - You - and you just pick out
somebody else to drink, that's pretty much it. So, let's see that
demonstrated. I picked the two which means you have to drink.
- The next rule variation you can play with are the threes. And, it's
the three me rule. Which means if you draw a three you have to drink.
Just like I just drew four, Ha. Let's see that demonstrated. The three
that means I have to drink three seconds.
- The next rule variation is with the fours, and basically if somebody
draws a four, all the girls drink. You can remember it, four for female,
or if you can think of some word that rhymes with four that means girl,
I don't know. You can play it by that way. Let's see that demonstrated.
I have a four card, it's for the women, you gotta drink four seconds.
- The next rule also involves the fours. So, you can decide if you
want to play with this rule or the last rule of fours, but, this rule is
called the four floors rule. Which means, if somebody draws a four,
everybody scrambles to touch the floor. Last person to touch the floor
has to drink and that's the four floor rule. So, let's see that
demonstrated. Oh, it's the four, you gotta touch the floor, the last
person to touch the floor drinks. Who was the last person? I guess it
was me, I couldn't even see your hands. Oh, OK.
- The next rule variation involves the five, we call it the five jive
rule. Which means if somebody draws a five they make a gesture to
another person, that person has to repeat the gesture and add something
to it and it goes around until somebody messes it up and then of course,
they drink. So, I'll go like this, and the next guy goes, you know, and
the next guy like, and so on. Let's see that demonstrated for real.
Okay, I drew the five jive card. So, I'm going to make a gesture and you
have to repeat it. I was suppose to add something, there I added
something. I can't remember what happened.
- The next rule variation involves the sixes, no it's not the Satan
rule, all it means is all guys in the circle drink. So, somebody draws a
six, all guys drink, that's pretty much it. So, let's see that
demonstrated. I drew the six card that means all the guys have to drink.
- The next rule variation is the sevens, and we call this rule the
seven heavens. Which means, if somebody draws a seven, instantly you
throw your hands up in the air. The last person to throw their hands up
in the air drinks. This rule is just pretty much the opposite of the
four floors rule. So, let's see it demonstrated, seven heavens. All
right, I got the sevens. Aah.
- The next rule involves the eights and we like to call it the eighth
mate rule, that was suppose to be with an English accent. But, if you
draw an eight that just means that you pick a mate and you drink,
everybody's happy! Everybody's drinking! Let's see that demonstrated,
the eighth mate rule. "I drew the eight mate card, Adam will you drink
with me?" "Okay!"
- The next set of rule variations, you can pretty much assign to any
card. I told you that the best part about Kings is that you can make up
pretty much any rule you want, and play with any card you want. So, here
are some suggestions for rules you can play. First rule I'm gonna do is
called the thumb rule. So you assign a card the thumb rule and then when
somebody draws the thumb card they put their thumb on the table and then
everybody else has to put their thumb on the table and the last person
to do it has to drink. So, let's see that demonstrated shall we.
- The next rule variation, and again this is a rule that you can
assign to any card you like is the F You rule. So, that means, OK, at
the beginning of the game we're going to make the eight card the F You
card. So, I draw the eight card. Now I should F You and everybody else
shouts F You and the last person to should F You drinks. So, that's a
real fun vulgar rule, let's see that demonstrated. There's the five,
it's the F You card. F YOU. F YOU.
- The next rule variation, again this is a rule you assign to any card
you like, it's called the You F'er rule. It's pretty much a counterpart
to the F You rule and say, Okay, at the beginning of the game we assign
the six card as going to be the You F'er rule. That means whenever
somebody draws the six card, everyone has to yell, You F'er, and the
last person to yell it has to drink. So, if any of you have Virgin ears
you may not wanna watch this demonstration. OH NO, it's the You F'er
card. You F'er, You F'er. Aah.
- Another rule variation you can play called the toilet rule, Yea, so.
At the beginning of the game you can allow toilet breaks and then assign
toilet-rule to a card. So, say you pick like the two card to be the
toilet card, it's a little bit obvious, but whatever. So, now the two
card is the toilet card. Nobody can go to the bathroom. If somebody
draws the toilet card they now have a "get out the circle to pee" free
card. So, if somebody draws the toilet card they now have the option to
go to the bathroom if they would like or they can trade their card to
somebody that has to pee really bad, and trade for money or whatever.
Let's see the toilet card demonstrated. Oh, hell yea, I'm gonna go to
the bathroom. Number one or number two? Ha, Ha.
- Another rule variation for you. We call this the freeze rule. At the
beginning of the game you assign the freeze rule to any card you like,
let's say you do the three. We call is the three freeze. That means
somebody draws the three they freeze and don't move. Everybody in the
circle now has to freeze, the last person to freeze, drinks. And let's
go ahead and see that demonstrated.
- Another rule variation for you. We call this one Snake Eyes. In this
variation, at the beginning of the game you decide on a snake eyes card,
let's say two because it's obvious. Now the snake eyes rule, somebody
draws the card, nobody can look at them, you can stare down whoever you
want but nobody can look at you. The first person to look you in the
eyes, looses, and must drink. And that is the snake eyes rule. Let's see
it demonstrated, shall we. Snake eyes, Aah!
- Here's your last rule variation. It's called the number chant rule,
so at the beginning of the game you assign a card the number chant rule,
say the seven. So, whenever somebody draws the seven, now you must play
the number chant game. You start at one and it goes around the circle
going two, three, four, and so on but, when you get to seven or a number
containing the seven like seventeen or twenty-seven or a multiple of
seven, like fourteen or twenty-one, you say reverse. Then, the counting
goes back the other way. It's a little bit complicated but and you know,
after you've had a couple of drinks, you're probably not going to get
very far. But, you draw the number chant card, you get a one, and it
goes around, two, three, four, five, six - reverse - eight, nine, ten,
eleven, twelve, thirteen - reverse - and you keep going until somebody
messes up and then they drink and everybody has a good time. So, lets
see this last rule demonstrated. Hope you have fun, I did, I have a lot
of fun, sometimes. Remember, it's all about having fun. Ah, the seven.
One, two, three, four, five, six - reverse - eight (quit laughing) ten,
eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, it's the rule of seven. You said
anything that had a seven in it. And a multiple. Drink. Ok.
