LIFE AND LOVE

Life and love, two similar words,
We cast a prayer and we're clearly heard,
Because God gave life, that he might have love,
Our life came to us from the One above,
God wants just love, to be a friend.
To love us all until the end,
It also is just what I want,
Since I don't receive it, my soul it haunts,
There are a few who don't love the Lord,
They are cruel and evil, a barbarian horde,
And so He sorrows, His tears do fall,
Against this lack of love, a wall,
I sorrow too, for love that's lost,
I want a friend, someone to trust,
But there's still the one who trusts me not,
Does this make life vain, a sorry lot?

THE LIVES OF
OUR SOUL
As we think and as we ponder,
And as we begin to fly,
As we stare and try to wonder,
What will happen when we die,
When the wind blows through the treetops,
And the water starts to glow,
When our faithful bee stops,
Then the morning starts to flow.
First our adolescent years,
Begin to come upon us,
All the whispers and the tears,
And relationships to taunt us.
Then we enter middle age,
And our youth begins to fade,
Like writing on a page,
Being chopped up by a blade.
For when our past is ripped asunder,
And we travel toward the whole,
Like the lightning and the thunder,
Occurring in the lives of our soul.
