It only takes the slightest breeze,
To start the leaves to fall.
And it only takes a single word,
To crash a castle wall.
It doesn't matter what one says,
If one's actions don't agree.
But remember that humans make mistakes,
And that includes even me.
You assumed I tried to hurt you,
When your actions, you threw out,
But where is the trust in all your words,
If the benefit's not in the doubt?
My words may have been incorrect,
Or they may have been a lie,
But you asked not IF I tried to hurt,
You only asked me WHY.
Your first real chance to trust me,
When things were looking grim,
And did you take the bright approach?
No, you took the dim!
It's easy for you to trust me,
When things are looking great,
But when things get a little dark,
Why does your love turn to hate?
My words may have been incorrect,
Or they may have been a lie,
But you asked not IF I tried to hurt,
You only asked me WHY.
