The Black Bard of Meridies<br>

It only takes the slightest breeze,<br>
To start the leaves to fall.<br>
And it only takes a single word,<br>
To crash a castle wall.<br>
It doesn't matter what one says,<br>
If one's actions don't agree.<br>
But remember that humans make mistakes,<br>
And that includes even me.<br>
You assumed I tried to hurt you,<br>
When your actions, you threw out,<br>
But where is the trust in all your words,<br>
If the benefit's not in the doubt?<br>
My words may have been incorrect,<br>
Or they may have been a lie,<br>
But you asked not IF I tried to hurt,<br>
You only asked me WHY.<br>
Your first real chance to trust me,<br>
When things were looking grim,<br>
And did you take the bright approach?<br>
No, you took the dim!<br>
It's easy for you to trust me,<br>
When things are looking great,<br>
But when things get a little dark,<br>
Why does your love turn to hate?<br>
My words may have been incorrect,<br>

But you asked not IF I tried to hurt,<br>
You only asked me WHY.<br>
