The Dawning of Slieve Gullion
The Dawning of Slieve Gullion
The white light glistened
Shimmering still as the song of the
Day grew
There I tread upon the new dew
Drunk from the night
Sober with awe
Wanting to share the moment
Wishing the moment to endure
It was then that all seemed clear
Never had I breathed such sweet air
Felt at one with the earth
A total infusion as ecstasy took root
The earth cushioned my stride
Bringing me home
Although I was there
Oh the day was beautiful
The song of the morning
Travelled out and travelled in
For miles
I then turned to reach for you
To see what I had seen
To feel what I felt
Desperately searching
I spun to a stop
All I could grasp was the chill
Of the air
Alone I stood
Returning back to the mortal
I stole another glance
Setting the moment deep inside
That I may never forget
How I became one with myself
I breathed deep and smiled
So deep that all fears died
The light and sound guarded me
This bubble could not burst
Protection within the womb of the world
I could go home now
It was the end of my beautiful day
For others the beginning
