THE RULES OF A CULTURE

The rules of a culture are always just,
And in ours, adherence is always a must,
They make our love for each other strong,
By saying our love for others is wrong,
A hug? Why no! 'Tis treason sure!
A kiss? Perdition, Hell and more!
Lass with you I'll flirt tonight.
"Well, if you do my lord you'll fight!"
How about a drink or three?
"My lord says 'no', He's ALL for me."
Lass, can I get at least a smile?
"If you do, my love puts me on trial."
What of that which we shared before?
"I love him now, and you no more."
You made me a promise forever and on.
"Well sir, those days are past and gone."
My lady, my promises eternal are.
"For me, things change and new one's bar,
The old one's that we once did share."
Well lass, I'm afraid I just don't care,
For the one you say you want to be,
Yet if you ever come back to me,
My promises I'll always keep,
So lass until then, My love will sleep.
