Actually, before we get to the cards, you may run into banks that claim the<br>
Patriot Act requires that all signatories be present in that bank to sign.<br>
They are incorrect in their interpretation of the Customer Identification<br>
(CIP) portion of the Act, but there is no point arguing with them. If they<br>
will not allow a signature card to leave their institution, it is unlikely<br>
that you will be able to have an SCA account there, even if they are the<br>
most convenient, or offer the best deal. You MUST have a Kingdom<br>
representative, technically (and ideally) the current Kingdom Treasurer, on<br>
the account.<br>

Common Signature Card Problems<br>

  · Number of signatures: Calontir Fiscal Policy requires all accounts<br>
    within the Kingdom to require 2 signatures for withdrawals. If your<br>
    group needs a variance to this policy, please contact the Kingdom<br>
    Treasurer ASAP.<br>
  · Powers granted: The only powers that should be marked are to open an<br>
    account and to endorse checks/make deposits.<br>
  · Type of account: The SCA is a non-profit corporation based in Milpitas<br>
    (Santa Clara County) California.<br>
  · Tax ID number: The Federal ID number for all SCA accounts is:<br>
    94-1698556.<br>
  · Account name: Accounts should have the name: SCA Inc - Branch Name. The<br>
    branch level is optional (SCA Inc - Bois d'Arc is just as appropriate,<br>
    and shorter than, SCA Inc - Shire of Bois d'Arc.) You may also spell out<br>
    Society for Creative Anachronism, but that will take up a lot of room.<br>
  · Non-corporate signatures present where corporate signatures are called<br>
    for. Unless you are the real secretary or president of the SCA Inc, OR<br>
    the bank approved you signing, you should not sign here. Please include<br>
    a letter telling me that the bank approved a non-corporate level<br>
    signature on the form.<br>
