Pain Has Made a Man Outa' Me

I came into the SCA a lad of seventeen

Intrigued and fascinated by the fighting I had seen
So I donned a helm and armor, some experience to glean
And the pain has made a man outa' me!

_Gory Glory, hit 'em low and hit 'em high

Gory glory, I am not afraid to die
Gory glory, how could anyone deny
That the pain has made a man outa' me!_

I went out to the tourney field in hopes to authorize

My opponent came upon me with a plan to pulverize
I had always thought that marshalls should be there to supervise
Still, the pain has made a man outa' me.

_Gory Glory, hit 'em low and hit 'em high

Gory glory, I am not afraid to die
Gory glory, how could anyone deny
That the pain has made a man outa' me!_

So I became a fighter, fully authorized at last

And I thought that all my troubles were behind me in the past
But I didn't realize the other fighters were so fast
And the pain has made a man outa' me.

_Gory Glory, hit 'em low and hit 'em high

Gory glory, I am not afraid to die
Gory glory, how could anyone deny
That the pain has made a man outa' me!_
