I also found the song "Ballad of the Camping Woodcutter," with identical lyrics on an album by Allen & Grier (FM305, 1963). Allen & Grier were the stage names of Jake Holmes and his wife Kay. He got more attention as a song and jingle writer, as in "I'm a Pepper," etc.
