Pua Pua
circa WWII

We'll remember Colonel Edson, how he led us to the fight
We'll remember Major Chambers, how he fought with all his might
We'll remember the Raiders as we marched into the fray
And we'll remember Pua Pua when we're back in the U. S. A.

We'll remember the Captains, they were flighty as a flea
We'll remember the Lieutenants, they were goofy as can be
And we'll remember the Sergeants for they always led the way
And we'll remember Pua Pua when we're back in the U. S. A

We'll remember August seventh when we landed on the beach
We'll remember Tulagi and the Japs we had to reach
We'll remember that mop-up while the mortars banged away
And we'll remember Pua Pua when we're back in the U. S. A

We'll remember the island and the jungle damp and rot
We'll remember the noon hours while the sun shone bright and hot
We'll remember the Raiders, how we fought both night and day
And we'll remember Pua Pua when we're back in the U. S. A
