[Out of Order]

The following is a humorous record by Charley Smith of Kankakee. It represents a meeting of the board of aldermen in Bloomfield, N G Y J.

The town of Bloomfield contemplated building a reservoir. The people in the town had been kicking at the water supply, and they concluded to appoint a committee of three to investigate a good location for a reservoir. The committee appointed were a countryman, a German, and an Irishman. After a little contemplation, the German and the countryman concluded to give the Irishman the go-by, that is, to freeze him out of the committee and work the thing on their own responsibility. The Irishman noticed this and didn't say anything at the time but felt very much hurt. At a meeting of the board of aldermen to receive the report, the following is a see — illustration.

Are the parties that were appointed to making an investigation on the, uh, reservoir present?

Well, yes sir, I'm here, sir, I was appointed.

Mister Wilkins?

Yes, sir.

Well what what report have you to make?
