Description (revised)
WWII (1943-1945) USN Photo album of Lt. Dale M. Shear. Flew with VP109 and VPB 18. Over 300 photos of Navy men, crew of his plane, natives (bare breasted ), night clubs of the canal zone with exotic dancers, Galapagos Islands and fauna, Patrols, group shots, family, chlideren and friends from high school etc. A couple of mounted documents and newspaper clippings as well and a theater made songbook. Great pictures. Mounted with black paper corners. Newspaper clippings/articles mounted directly to the pages. Also an 8" by 10" photo of him at his desk with the rank of Lt. Commander, USN.  2 large photos(same)  of VP 109 with the caption "My squadron 1943-1944) below. Looks like officers. Downed plane with the caption, "Slight mishap Norfolk, 1943" A realm of Jupiter Rex for him filled out to Patrol Squadron 109, for flying across the equator on Feb 9, 1944. Nice looking mounted with black paper corners. Him with his crew posed in front of a patrol plane Banana River, Florida 1942.  His plane in flight, 7 photos of his crew within the plane at their staions in-flight, family pictures of the wife, dad, friends, etc. Many pictures of Central/South America station including  50-60  photos of the Galapagos Islands including Iguanas, turtles, deer, hunting trip, camp, etc. Great pictures. All ID'ed. Coco Solo night life, dancers, clubs, people etc. Canal Zone pics, Baringuilla Indians photos (about 20). Photos on patrol flying over ships (out of Salinas Ecuador, 1943). Photo of VP-18's scoreboard in the Pacific, and a great photo of the insignia of the unit, looks like a flying turtle with bombs. 20 souvenir USMC photos of Saipan. Naval Justice school certificate dated 1946. Newspaper clipping (wartime) of him eating chow. Other personal family photos. The pictures of the Galapagos are super.  A few pictures are missing but based on the description under them, they are of his wife or family pics. Also based on his ribbon bars and Navy wings, it looks like he received the Air Medal and DFC. A great looking album, well kept. Nice shape. Lt. Shear flew with VP109 and VPB18 during WWII. I have also listed his Berlin Airlift, Hawaii & personal family album circa 1946-1949. 3 day inspection. Postage/insurance extra. Cash or money order. Paypal ok. Overseas sales ok.  Payment expected within 10 days of auction's close. Good luck.
