Toasts and Sentiments

The President of the United States of America

The 11 of February 1732 -- The birth day of his Excellency, George Washington, Esq.

The 4th of July 1776 -- Declaration of independence of the United States of America.

The 16th of October, 1777 -- General Burgoyne taken.

The 17th of October 1781 -- General Earl Carnwallis taken.

The friends of America throughout the world; may our mutual interest rivet the bonds of perpetual amity.

The memory of Columbus, and our adventurous fore-fathers who first planted the standard of freedom on the shores of North-America.

May religion, science, the arts, peace and liberty, extend their happy influence to our brethren, the Aborigines of America.

The immortal spirits of the brave warriors who fell in defense of America.

The American fair; may beauty and love reward the brave and the free.

Long corns and short shoes to the enemies of America.

May peace and liberty gradually extend until they encompass the glove.

Honor and influence to the public-spirited patrons of trade.

Union, stability, and fidelity, among the songs of liberty.

All true hearts and sound bottoms.

May we never seek applause from party principles, but always deserve it from public spirit.

May we never set our friend to sale, or our conscience to hire.

May our virtues be rather the effects of religion than the gifts of nature.
