VARSITY, CONCERTONE & GRAMOPHONE 2000/20100 12" LP series

The mid-1950's Varsity, Concertone and Gramophone catalogs appear to be identical, with sleeves and labels occasionally found interchanged. This Varsity series was initiated in the Summer of 1952. Gramophone probably hit the stores just in time for Christmas of 1953 though all three labels may in fact be contemporaneous. By March of 1953 the catalog had reached 2075. As with many of Eli Oberstein's products, there is a jump in the numbering system, this between 2099 and 20100. Most identified Gramophone 2000/20100's correspond to Halo 5000/50100 releases but there are substitutions and mis-pressings. This is only a preliminary listing and any additional details are welcome.
